Gratitude (small)

Not giving and not getting enough gratitude or taking things for-granted and not being thankful for them is like living in the dark without sunshine.

Gratitude is emoted like rays of sunshine. It warms and enlightens any heavy heart in darkness. Unfortunately, the more things we have, and the more people we have supporting us, the more we take them for-granted. Many times it is only when we suddenly lose them that we realize how much we really appreciated them.

We end up missing them so much that our gratitude finally comes out and shows her beautiful face turned sour with resentment, self-pity and frustration.

When you emote gratitude for the things and people you have, while you have them, that same gratitude is like a ray of sunlight reflected, magnified and focused back on you, making you feel wonderful.

Just like how you feel when someone acknowledges appreciation for something that you are very proud of. Appreciation comes with different depths. At its shallow end it is a silent “thanks” with a smile, coming from the heart. At the deepest end it is admiration and appreciation with open eyes, coming from the brain with comments that suggest that you were understood just like you wanted and needed to be.

There is no need to overdo gratitude, and if you do over do it, people will not take you seriously and you will just make them laugh at you.

If you under do it, people will take you as an ingrate. Follow your heart and show and express gratitude.

Expressing gratitude to yourself is a form of self-gratification.

Treating yourself to a treat or spending some time with yourself is wonderful; but it is much more rewarding and wonderful with someone else.

The best way to express your appreciation is to spontaneously say it. Expressing appreciation doesn't have to be expensive. You don't need to say it with roses and presents.

You can just say it with a kiss and do it at home very slowly to make it last.
